I spent more than 5 hours on the road today, driving between my company’s three offices.  I do this about once a month as a “maintenance” road trip.  Until today, I’ve always depended on the car’s/truck’s radio to keep me entertained.

Today was different.  I owe this to a recent LexMUG meeting.  During that meeting, the speaker mentioned listening to podcasts during commutes.

I’m ashamed to admit it, but I’ve had an iPhone for nearly a year and I’ve never used it for that purpose while driving.  So this morning, for the first time, I loaded up three of the newest TWiT audio podcasts and brought my headphones and auxillary cable.

I got through two of the podcasts while driving.  It was probably the best thing to help pass the time.  So, new rule: I will bring some form of podcast on every trip that I make from now on.
